Safe and Painless Pigment Removal in Gillingham

How does Pigment Removal treatment work?

Laser light is released in short pulses that are absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within pigmented lesions (i.e. age spots and melasma etc.). The rapid absorption to the skin of light energy will heat the skin layers and cause the destruction of the melanin-rich cells without damaging the skin surface.

The skin's natural behaviour to the laser light is to reboot natural formed collagen and then grow new skin cells. Your old skin can form a slight scab and with that, the dark pigmented lesion will naturally come off.

How does the treatment feel?

Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and tolerable and no anaesthesia is required.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of treatments will depend on the size and type of the pigmented lesion but, usually, one to three sessions are required at four to six week intervals.

The consultation Procedure

Prior to treatment, you must first undergo a FREE consultation. We will discuss the options available to you and your medical history before deciding whether laser treatment is right for you. Before proceeding, you will be asked to sign a consent form and undergo a test patch.
