Strood's Specialist Pigment Removers

How does Pigment Removal treatment work?

Brief bursts of laser energy are released and promptly absorbed by concentrated pigmentation, such as in melasma and age spots, due to their high melanin content. This swift absorption of light energy generates heat within the skin's layers, causing the targeted melanin-carrying cells to deteriorate without causing harm to the outermost layer of skin.

The laser light stimulates collagen production and promotes the regeneration of skin cells. As a result, your old skin will shed, potentially forming a slight scab and removing the dark pigmented lesion.

How does the treatment feel?

Patients undergoing pigment removal typically experience minimal and tolerable discomfort, without the need for anaesthesia.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of sessions needed for pigment removal differs based on the type and size of the lesion. Typically, these sessions are spaced out at four to six week intervals, with a total of one to three treatments required.

The consultation Procedure

Prior to commencing any pigment removal treatment, a FREE consultation is necessary. During this appointment, we will discuss various treatment options as well as your medical history to determine if laser treatment is suitable for you. If you decide to move forward, we will require you to sign a consent form and conduct a test patch.
